Wait, wasn’t W10 supposed to be the last version of Windows? What happened to “Windows as a Service?”

Now playing

I annoyed the shit out of my friends for years by saying ROTJ was my favorite Star Wars movie, but it was for two reasons. One was that space battle. It’s fantastic. It was a space battle on a scale never seen before (and it took something like 15 years for anything even close to be attempted again), it escalates the

Humanity is amazing. We could do anything, if we put our minds to it and work hard. Cure diseases, land on Mars, expand into the depths of the oceans, travel among the stars.

To each their own, but I think it looks like a toy. Even more so than the ‘fullsize’ trucks of today.

People have been making that much money as professionals. All these people have done is cut out the middlemen and the gatekeepers. Power to them, I say.

Jesus Christ... No more of this Rubbish. We’re long past where conspiracy theories are just funny. They’re doing real harm to all countries and the Covid19 pandemic showed it pretty clearly. Ban these idiots already.

It’s almost as if these smaller creators don’t realize that Google can’t continue to provide the service unless it generates revenue.

Once you’re big enough to start earning, you can start earning, but Google is offsetting the losses on videos that they’re currently making no money on, while still offering the ability

Never watched the entire thing. I love cinema and was repeatedly told it’s a must see for movie nuts. It’s honestly not that good (also these things are fairly subjective), but one graphic rape scene was one too many for me... it’s also a pretty shitty narrative. The story is all over the place. To be fair I think

I love the occasional reminder that throwing money at something doesn’t automatically mean it succeeds. Sometimes terrible ideas just sit there, stinking, like a turd on the subway.

The last one is priceless.

For the end user? The illusion of convenience and the false belief  that state of the art tech makes life better simply by being owned.

Personal airspace isn’t clearly defined, but is understood to end somewhere between 80-500 ft above the ground. You’d be well within your rights to have something in this range.

I saw Reign of Fire FOUR times theatrically, have seen it multiple dozens of times since, and it’s probably still my favorite film of both Bale and McConaughey. The dragon designs are phenomenal, but the work The Secret Lab did on the CGI was some next-level shit and hold up remarkably to this day. Great, great, great

Jessica Jones Furiousa would like to have words with you.

“Not a single heroine has come close to matching Lucy Lawless’s Xena when it comes to fucks to give.”

I think trailers that rely on enticing visuals SHOULD be the norm. Heck, look at the trailer for Fury Road. Zero in the way of plot, but most friends I have who saw the trailer were pumped up just by the adrenaline rush of random clips.

I like guns but acknowledge climate change. I have no opinion on dieties except that religion causes more trouble than its worth.

Unless the global industries change, there’s nothing we can do. “We” are not the problem, we are not the source of most of the inaction. Nor most of the pollution, for that matter.

I love all the obnoxiously shoehorned-in product placement in the movie, and Parker Posey, and the soundtrack, and - my god - Du Jour. The whole movie from start to finish is so joyful.

My wife has been using a Razer mechanical keyboard for 3+ years and she hammers on that thing, so I’m guessing we’re seeing anecdote being confused w/ evidence.
