Like I said, the dialogue in the original was no peach either. But it had the benefit of at least being FUN and CHEESY, making it a little more acceptable.
It’s called “on-the-nose” dialogue. And it’s something that screenwriters, I’ve noticed, have been horrible at in general for the last few years.
I don’t know exactly. Can’t really explain it. Could be the acting. Could be the delivery. Could be a combination. But something about it was just really really off to me.
