The Space Babies episode was silly but fun.  The Beatles episode was silly but horribly self-indulgent (especially the cringeworthy last 5 minutes).  Gatwa has potential but I fear we may be in for another good Doctor with bad stories.

We’re at that point in the cycle where the majors want to lose heads, which will lead to a boom in independents, many of whom will be doing contract development deals with the majors.  Then in 5 years time the majors will start buying them up again.  Rinse and repeat.

I did Brisbane for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. Top tip from me would be having breakfast at Joey’s on Kangaroo Point with a fantastic view of the city.

As mentioned earlier I love both Bonfire of the Vanities and A Man in Full, but I resisted buying I Am Charlotte Simmons because I couldn’t imagine that he’d do a good job of the subject matter.

I loved the book (as I did Bonfire of the Vanities) so will give this a look. My one hope is that it addresses my one issue with both books - the endings are very weak.

Those films were great - especially the second one (although the first one deserves credit for leaning into the fact that everybody hated Scrappy). They have lots of lines that my family still use to this day.
