To me, the extreme efforts they went to for the misdirect about Black’s nature made a lot of the film nonsensical. Why would the people that really know him not give Harry a heads up?

As a Brit I was ignorant of these guys until seeing a clip at the News Museum in D.C. of them doing the Draft Dodger’s Rag on their show.  I was stunned that something as anti-establishment as that was on a network show at that time.

But it does make some people susceptible to conspiracy theories.

The rowing is the least of Oxford Blues’ crimes against authenticity.

Yes - definitely more Peck than Grant.

Hopefully Archie will dispel the notion propagated by Eli Wallach and Kate (how could you?) Winslet in The Holiday that Cary Grant was from Surrey.

By far the greatest is the Britcom The Good Life (remade as Good Neighbors in the US I believe) from around 1977. Especially the home made crackers...

I suspect Che has about 10 years worth of material for Jost ready to go.  But it was nice to see Jost fighting back this year. “Y’all need Jesus in your life” was just perfect.

I loved the fact that even after the segment finished when Jost tried to shake “Dr Davis’s” hand, she still shook her head.

No room in the list for Mickey Blue Eyes?

One of my favourite scenes from one of my favourite shows.  Just brilliant.

Or for anybody preferring the Americans to be the bad guys...

I prefer a middle ground between this and most US late night shows. You know, Graham Norton?

Also, he was John Freaking Lennon. The idea that Friends (popular as it was) had a similar cultural impact to The Beatles is pretty laughable.

Plus it has some of the best songs in movie history. And a bunch of kids having a go at acting while Jodie Foster shows them how acting is really done.

I think that comes down to the source material - a pulp novel versus a memoir.

Macca is also an effective proponent of the non-Christmas, Christmas song. Mull of Kintyre was a Christmas number one, and the Frog Chorus is also inextricably linked with Christmas in the UK.

I think Goodfellas is better than the Godfathers. It’s one of the very few films where, if I’m flicking through the channels late at night and I see it, I know I will be watching it until the end.
