More has come.  Well, more of the same.  The Guardian has written the same article two months later.  Cindy will be engaging smug mode.

Except of course (as I’m sure you knew) I was making the point that she’s working on something hugely unoriginal because of the history of the franchise. I really wish the thing with Donald Glover had worked (not Mr & Mrs Smith - something original) because Glover’s speech before presenting her BAFTA was comedy gold.

Interesting read - thanks. Speaking of “good chap” Philby, have you seen A Spy Among Friends? Both the TV drama with Guy Pearce, Damian Lewis and Anna Maxwell-Martin, and the Ben McIntyre book on which it’s based, are very good.

“…doing something that hasn’t been done before.”

I’ll bear in mind not to try - thanks for the warning.

I probably saw that in 1982, but never since.  Had no idea he was in it!

No - he was born near Dublin, and grew up in Cork.

He’s Irish.

I’d not heard of that.  Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders?  I’m sold.

Yes that made me chuckle as well. Classic bait and switch.  He was a grumpy old sod was Rickman.

More to the point, Cobie Smulders has been underserved by the entire entertainment industry.

Yeah bitch! Magnets!

I won’t have a word said against the first 15-20 minutes of Temple of Doom. It’s my all-time favourite movie opening.  If it comes on TV I will always watch it until they get off the raft.  And the serving cart move is one of my favourite bits.

I’d be interested in your views on the Loretta scene. As others have said, it’s not unproblematic, but it’s comparatively sympathetic, especially for 1979.

Stopped reading at “The Sun”.

I knew there was something off about it...

Oh he’s a muppet all right.

I unexpectedly saw him this afternoon in London, singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the Cubs-Cardinals game.

All of this is correct.

I’d have Team America close to the top of this list. Seriously laugh out loud funny.
