except for an apostrophe before the S in Salem”

Very few came out of it well as they sought to pander to “the yoof”. Tony Benn was one who picked up on everything offensive Ali G said.

The Day Today actually launched Partridge as a sports reporter before Knowing Me, Knowing You.

That’s exactly it. You can really understand the attraction to that life, despite all the downsides. Karen tests the water with “What do you do?” and even tests the response with her point about his hands. But once she’s asked twice and he’s come up with a semi-plausible explanation, she feels she’s done her bit and

I’d say Touch of Evil is the best all-round, but I just love the Goodfellas one.  Just everything about it is a joy.

And they also mention the Absolute Beginners one.  In fact the article above mentions that both are referenced.

Since marrying Rita Ora.

Yes! GMV is great. Nowhere to Run particularly works brilliantly in the film.

I’d also raise a query about O Brother Where Art Thou’s “depression-era” verisimilitude.  It’s a very Bluegrass soundtrack, and bluegrass only really took off in the 40s.

When the things they did and said undermined our lines of argument with the reactionary cap-doffers we’ve been arguing with for the last few years.  Their self-entitlement does not make the press less racist, and the press’s racism does not make them innocent victims.  Anybody would think hereditary monarchy is an

The modern world is full of scenarios where it is perfectly OK to hate on both sides of a dispute.  For example, if it weren’t so serious I’d be getting my dumpster sized popcorn bucket ready for Trump v De Santis.

I wouldn’t remotely class We’re the Millers as a blockbuster, but I agree with the description here - it’s a much funnier film than I was expecting when I first watched it.  And it’s very rewatchable.

I’ve never seen I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. I didn’t feel the need after seeing an Australian film with the same set-up three years earlier, and starring far more likeable actors (Paul Hogan and Michael Keaton in Strange Bedfellows). Apparently the ensuing lawsuit ended when the producers of Chuck and Larry
