I think the most striking thing about Stranger Things now is that the comment section isn’t full of people arguing that it’s just lazy nostalgia fare anymore.

Surely the more era appropriate choice would have been Jethro Tull.

She did a radio interview last week where she (unsurprisingly) revealed she does not have a smart phone.

More unrealistic would be filming a 3-camera sitcom in the West Village apartment they could actually have afforded given their jobs.

As long as he could watch?

I was being facetious - they were a playing card company for decades.

Agreed.

Maybe, but also the show leans very heavily on its setting in time and space, so it should really get these things right.

It’s a shame Cara Buono has had so little to do this series, because her perm is spectacular.

American teen knows their popular culture in granular detail, but gets very confused about what the country’s agents are doing abroad?  Checks out.

I know it’s not a big deal when it’s the other way around (ie a song is significantly older than the scene) and I know it fits the vibe, but I was a little bothered by Psycho Killer appearing in the show. I shouldn’t be. But I am.

I was about to issue a final version with the draft stamp removed, and my boss said “have they asked for a final version?” When I said no, he told me to wait until they did. “You

Nintendo have been around since 1889 (I learned at a quiz last night).

I think the point is that paying that kind of money for a potentially disposable part seems a bit…generous. I’m guessing Adam is right and it’s bullshit.

Well  played.

You haven’t seen Paddington 2, I take it. Personally, I’m looking forward to Hugh Grant playing Phoenix Buchanan playing Zeus.

I’m coming at this from a different angle (as a white, straight English feller).  I don’t think there should be any issue with Bond being a POC. Perhaps in the original books there’s a lot of the imperialist in him, but the way the character has evolved over 60 years of films, I don’t think it would be particularly

I’m torn. I’d really quite like a back-to-basics, period Bond (1950s Cold war setting - something like this year’s TV mini-series remake of The Ipcress File). But I also know that would mean wasting a good opportunity to modernise the franchise.
