I’ve usually not been a big fan of the cheap LEDs that have flooded the market, especially when used in exterior lighting. Now that the newest car in fleet had some LEDs in tails/turns (halogens in the main tail/turn light position), I’ve switched those to LEDs, in order to save the unobtainium rear lights (‘11 Saab

Yes, good/clean coupes are starting to fetch bigger dollars, and they are mighty sexy. OTOH, I saw a FB ad in the midwest for a W201 2.6 5-speed(!) Not outrageously priced, but not cheap, either. However, I’m currently at something like five+ cars at the moment, having recently picked up a 2011 Saab 9-5.

To me, the W124s are the sweetest spot of all in ‘youngtimer’ Benzes; I’ve loved them ever since they were first introduced in ‘86. Unfortunately, I have yet to have one land in the driveway here. I’ll eventually get this 190e fully sorted, in between the two Saab projects in the queue here.

Running behavior once warmed up (fuel starvation/cuts out under any load other than idle). Fuel/air mix is properly dialed in (duty cycle is in the right ballpark). Next stops on the list: Adjust EHA, replace if no bueno, rebuild or replace fuel distributor.

Spot on, for all but the “fixing” part. KE-Jetronic is a pain in the butt to keep sorted without having to seemingly spend more money than the car’s worth, which sadly, for most W201s, that point is long-past. I’ve been fighting with my ‘85 190e on and off for the last few months.

Kyree, that reminds me a recent Hagerty “Barn Finder” segment recently... As he pulled into somebody’s yard, he commented, upon seeing a couple dead XJs in someone’s yard, that there are more non-running Jaguar sedans out there than running ones. He may have a point. And yeah, a X350 XJ8 is on my automotive wish list.

But, 17 mpg highway is *good* MPGs in a Grand Cherokee.  I don’t think I ever saw anything more than that with the V8 Limited I had, back in the day.

What’s so very cool is that the community around here (myself, included) was and is more than willing to help a fellow Jalop with tow rope, trailer, tools, a warm/dry place to wrench or sleep in a pinch, an extra set of wheels, whatever, during automotive misadventures. We should all be proud of that, and pay it

It’s even weirder that a truck with so much ‘Merica-f-yeah’ going for it was likely built in Mexico.

It depends on whether they’re crushed into cube size, or merely flattened.

COTD, all day long.

Wyoming’s been particularly unpleasant so far this fall and winter. We dodged a I-80 closing storm the last weekend in October (we drove to SLC for a wedding), and came back east via US 6 and I-70/76, rejoining 80 in Nebraska, as the storm hadn’t made it to the mountains yet that day. My girlfriend was not excited

Vintage SLABs? Might be a fun poster to see.

The only cure for Code Brown? More Code Brown.

If reverse gear is broken, engage full automatic to reverse the car.

Gorgeous car. Now, is the “Polestar 1" graphic on the fenders for the intro/demo, or is it going to be like tags on the sleeves of an overcoat or suit coat that some wearers never remove, instead keeping them on to flaunt the origins of the garment (or demonstrating that they stole it off the rack)?

When the perp gets taken down, will he say, “Mea Maxima culpable”?

Rogue braking on a Rogue?  That checks out.

My commute is all over the place, for my work in real estate. One day it might literally be across the street, the next, 125 miles away for appointments.  I usually rack up 40-50k miles/year.
