I have an Ebay search list which I get an email update every day which kicks back anything that’s being auctioned as “FYC Emmy DVD”. I got back 100+ listings in the days leading up to today. But none for The Good Place itself, save NBC’s FYC set that went out last month. Either that DVD was the best kept secret in…

Rachel forking Brosnahan, an journeywoman actress whose biggest claim to fame before the less than marvelous Mrs Maisel was House of Cards, is going to get an Emmy for the fewest number of episodes a comedy or drama has ever produced in a season. Chew on that for a moment.  Luckiest and most overrated performer on TV. 

Millions upon millions like me are like NPH.  Rachel Who?  

13 years and counting, zero Emmy nominations.  It’s one thing for Angela Lansbury to go ) for 19 in getting an actual Emmy.  It’s quite the other to go this long without even being nominated when she should have at least 8 by now (3 for VM, 1 for Heroes, 2 for Party Down, 2 for House of Lies, and 2 for TGP). 

Good Place is the only broadcast network show to make the shortlisted cut. Would be even better if they made it in mid-May.

Of course I’m happy the blackballing of The Good Place in TV award-giving is finally over. And that’s what it was. BLACKBALLING. Where were these mother forking awards outfits when Gilmore Girls and Lauren Graham were resetting the bar every week for TV dramedy, heck, just plain TV period, with such goodness? And…
