The Fragile WAS a disappointment after TDS though, as good as it surely is. Reznor and friends spent much time on the texture and vibe, and both come through brilliantly, but trying to make such a subtle rock record in 1999 was a fool's errand. And I still don't think the lyrical content or his vocal approach on it

Love the Deviations adds, based on one listening of the download after purchasing it so far.

Good write up. I still admire the debut record quite a bit. Color & The Shape is good to pull out once in a long while, and it holds up. Some good tracks are to be found on the next one, There Is Nothing Left To Lose. But yeah, getting through their albums after that became a kind of chore. Grohl does what he does

I'm finding both Green Lantern and Flash are still both terrible fighters in this game, just as they were in Injustice 1.

It seems to align with the conceit held by certain fanboys, which I believe began with Frank Miller & Dark Knight Returns, that Superman is a Boy Scout Tool that no one likes, and only the edgy, breaks-the-rules Batman can bring him down. And now they've made a whole comic / video game universe out of it.

I've played up to the Blue Beetle / Cyborg stage so far in story mode, and I have to agree, some of the facial rendering, particularly on Black Canary, was unsettling in how realistic it looked. Fun game so far, well worth the purchase.

I think both Kim & Chuck will survive, but with both absolutely loathing Jimmy/Saul. Then, as BCS winds down in later seasons, we can get a complete glimpse of Jimmy's ultimate fate post-Breaking Bad, and perhaps see a reunion of some kind with him and Kim and / or Chuck too. That's how I would do it.

I've always liked "Eye", and I didn't like Melloncollie at all and have still never checked out Adore.

It's really not that bad of a song. I remember commenting to a friend back then that the whole structure of "The Perfect Drug" itself as a song is a bit like the stages of being in a heady drug trip.

I was wondering too if we're going to see Gale pop up soon.

I wonder how they're going to work in the surprise Walt or Jesse cameos, maybe later next season. Imagine how much of their shit people will lose if that happens.
Edit: actually, I figure they'll save that for the finale.

I don't think doing an origin was ever the point of doing this show. It's to see how characters like Jimmy, Mike and Gus got from point A to B to C and on into Breaking Bad, as their arcs were almost often just as interesting as Walt's or Jesse's in BB.

So we have another mention of Tuco, and a scene of Hector convulsing without the aid of some pills. When we first see Hector in BB, he is mute and being taken care of by Tuco.

Before I read the review, I just want to say that while I think the ideas behind this episode were very sound, the execution of them made for a bit of a boring episode. Fell asleep watching the episode live, I thought the courtroom scenes dragged a bit, and is there any way in hell the court would allow the

This was a fantastic episode, and I had to laugh when the first commercial after the first break was for Popeye's Five Buck Chicken Bucket or something. Really targeted advertising there.

I've been eagerly awaiting for them to have Fring appear, and it was pretty well done the way they did do it (having Esposito emerge behind Odenkirk out of focus); but this was a show that was content to languidly explore its own dynamic for two whole seasons. Bringing in B-Bad elements almost felt like an imposition

"I was already admiring the darkening skies over the crossroad where Mike stops the wagon to make a first check for a tracker. Then a lightning bolt struck in the distance and I believe I may have said “wow” right out loud."

I think (I hope) that they could at least get 4, if not 5, seasons out of this story.

I noted the same parallel to myself, but not as eloquently. Well said!

Did anyone else out loud say "Fuck yes" when Mike zipped up his jacket to go out and track the people tracking him?
