Bingo.  I've been saying this for years.  It's not to say Kill Bill and Inglorious are bad movies - there are great scenes/elements to them, and they are expertly done.  But way too stylized and soulless to really be considered classics for me.  He's so gifted, I wished he'd stop trying to make campy throwbacks…

Oh man, good catch.  I feel like that movie needs to be talked about more often as the glorious piece of mid-80's exploitative, campy, Hitchcock ripoff that it is.  I love that movie, which I fully admit is awful.  Cult canon entry alert!

I remember I was ready to walk out after the first 15-20 minutes of that crap.  Then the movie kind of settles in after that, and it ends up being decent.  Best picture nominee, I think not.

In my theater, everyone laughed and applauded (including me), mostly because her character was such an annoying pain in the ass at that point.
