I agree with John Lewis. However, I decided long ago, as perhaps he did, that the esence of courage is to kee[ fighting for the Good, even when you are discouraged and tired. It’s wonderful to be a Happy Warrier or a Hopeful Fighter, but I’ll have to settle for being a Courageous Despondent.

This is clever and half-true. But MANY people used these terms to describe ANY people who act in certain ways. To me, for excample, ICE and most people in the White House are “thugs.” Race doesn’t matter; it’s the behavior that defines the term.
