Malaysia’s constitution defines Islam as the state religion. Tourists should always be careful to not offend religious/cultural sensibilities when visiting a country which does not enforce the separation of church and state, even more so when that church is Islam.

I’m 100% for respecting local sensibilities when you visit somewhere, but it always irks me when a country hosting a major international event can’t handle harmless culture shock.
