I somewhat regret I made that comment about Mother Teresa because it weakens my original point that we are too unforgiving of flaws in the best of people.
And you don’t understand that meaningful, even good, impact is often driven by bullshit. America is built on it.

As someone with a parent who grew up knowing Mother Teresa, I can’t believe there are people out there who still buy Mother Teresa’s shtick.
I’ve sponsored over twenty children in “those places” to get a university education. Most of their parents never learned to read beyond a basic level and those are in non-latin alphabets.

Is anyone familiar with Reiki? I've gone to a few sessions after being encouraged by my family. I definitely feel better than when I started, but I've been trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle in several ways (e.g. meditation, yoga) so there's no way I can tell if one thing in particular has an effect.
