Most importantly, spending money on material possessions or a nicer house just isn’t going to make you happier. Instead, Andrew Jebb, the lead author of the study, told Mic that if you want to be happier, you should focus less on yourself. “People tend to be better off when they spend their money... in service of

Karma............I love it!

Yielding?

Brakes.

1) They’re absolutely essential
2) They wear faster than nearly any other component
3) They’re easy to fix (most of the time)

One thing most people don’t know about p-hacking is your p-value will go down, no matter what, if you just increase the number of observations. If you have a really large dataset then .05 is a completely worthless measure for statistical significance.

If you have 100 different stupid theories, and test them all at the 95% confidence level, 5 of those stupid theories are going to be “proven” true.

Pre registration is a great idea. Mine the data all you want afterwards, but if you find anything interesting, start a new study to specifically test whatever you think you found.

If they’re blocking your driveway, they’re not legally parked.

I used to live in an apartment with assigned parking. The tenant next to me would invariably park very close to the line - presumably because of the support pillar for the covered parking. Funerals (or memorial services) are something I always try to attend. I’m married with 4 young children. If my wife and I can’t find someone to babysit, then one of us will stay home.

Used to be $500 in California. I got caught by that back in 1997. The repair for the car was ~$300, so I didn’t report it. A year later I went to renew my license and found out it was suspended... for failing to report it to DMV. Turned out the other guy had reported it, and DMV suspended my license for not doing so,

If you’ve never been in an accident, I can see how you wouldn’t know this. It’s very experience based knowledge.
