I just started watching Luther. I literally don’t know what took me so long. I love gritty procedurals, I love Idris Elba, I love british television. It is literally the trifecta. Wake UP Horsey!

You find it problematic that a writer that other people like a lot is someone you like less?

Can I ask why this seems to be such a sticking point? I don’t want to be the “all art if subjective” guy but if you agreed with her and thought Allen’s pen spewed candy covered gold...would it really change how you felt about anything?

the movie was fantastic and i think Lopez did a fantastic portrayal of Selena. And, in the movie it is Selena singing - not JLo. She wanted to sing the songs but the people doing the movie said no way. So if nothing else, you get to hear some great Selena songs.

Oh man. So bittersweet to see this.

White citizens also do it

I know! Or just want the spoils of ‘wild living’ without the environmental and social contract. I’m no greenie but I live in Australia, near a National Park and just for starters, am daily gobsmacked by how many folks let their pets roam free and kill native wildlife, when it’d be so easy to just not.

I know many people who just naturally switch back and forth between their first language and English when with their family, even when English-only people are around. It’s natural, not meant to offend, and they are usually saying inconsequential things. The parts of the conversation that you need to know will either

Agreed. Roger Ebert was my go to. I read his column regularly and watched his show. Didn’t always agree with him, but I love how much he loved movies.

If we can’t have Roger Ebert anymore, I don’t want anyone. Rotten Tomatoes hasn’t ever failed me.

I am similarly trying to fathom a level of publicity that’s *too much* for Taylor Swift.
