Filing this under the “music I love, made by horrible people in real life” category. Their debut album and Atlas are pretty high up on my “favorite music from the past 10 years” list. Both are great, rainy day, late-fall listening pleasures - and much of the joy of it comes from Mondanile guitar work. Kudos to the

I’ll skip Beck this week, but this album, and the Barnett/Vile album are must-purchases for the week.

It’s been a busy week, so ‘front to back’ listens were kind of thin. The only thing I listened to was Horace Silver’s Doin’ The Thing.

This is very sad. If there was just some way that he could have discovered that Trump was actively peddling a racist and xenophobic agenda before the November election.

I just saw Children of Men again at the Alamo Drafthouse. And that viewing was almost as much of a gut-punch as it was when I saw it during its opening weekend. After not seeing it for almost 5 years, its scary how much closer we seem to be for its premise - especially for the paranoid signs in the background about

“This Fucking Job” has got to be one of the best “pissed off, drive home during a commute” songs that’s ever been put to tape. But “The Flying Wallendas” is one of those songs that’s such a miss shot that it threatens to doom an album (The Big To Do for anyone who is curious about which of the albums this is referring

Fever is probably my FAVORITE album of the YYYs, but if I were to have to put on my “critic” hat, I’d say It’s Blitz is their best overall “album.”

Blue Sky Mining is a damn masterpiece - constantly left out of the “best albums of the ‘90s” discussion.

My ‘listen to an album that you’ve purchased or came across at least twice’ initiative continues this week with:

Yeah, I’m waiting for the Worriers to come in, also ordered Moses Sumney’s Aromanticism.

By the way, if by Clinton supporter you mean as someone who caucused for Sanders, and during the fall season, treated the presidency as a job application, and gauged which person was best suited for the job between Clinton, Gary Johnson, and Trump - and by that criteria, chose Clinton, then yeah, you can call me a

Thank you for your response!

It’s been almost a weekly occurrence for me - there’s always something that makes me look at him and either say “but her emails...” or “and that’s who you voted for.”

I’m pretty sure that was the driving force for his vote. He wasn’t an enthusiastic Trump supporter by any means, but given the choice between Gary Johnson and Trump, he chose Trump as an anti-Hillary vote.

For what it’s worth, my boyfriend (who is gay, like me), caucused for Bernie Sanders. Then, on the night of the election, he told me he voted for Trump. It was a like a gut-punch. Not that it should matter, just painting the profile - he’s educated (law degree), keeps up on the news - but, yeah. I still shake my head

On the acting end, I don’t see anything but great things continuing for Tilda Swinton.

Oh, and the obvious one this week: Grant Hart’s (R.I.P.) The Argument

The Ken Burns Vietnam documentary has been taking up a lot of my time, so the only thing I’ve really have been listening to - front to back - is Ride’s Nowhere.
