I don't know. I think with regards to body acceptance...you know, I guess I think we should be fighting for people to not receive hatred for their fat bodies even if the people themselves are massive shitstains.

Fat hatred is real; it is terrible and should be stomped out. That said: Making Mama June the fat hill you (the general you) want to die on? That's like animal rights people making Ingrid Newkirk their hill. Long story short, find better hills.

As a fat woman with an active sex life, I know one person who definitely is.

Ok so my first reaction to the Mama June thing is to go 'er no thanks'. But then I read a lot of other comments to that effect and I thought about it a little. Is our strong reaction to that simply because shes a fat woman? Like, fat people have perfectly enjoyable sex all the time, but as a society our gut reaction

Aww, come here you big dumb galooots! There, there. Women do stupid things too, such as going on juice cleanses and fucking/dating/marrying men. See? We're all stupid!

Misogynists have no sense of humor. They should really lighten up, if only their hysterical hormone-swings would let them.

Perhaps not, but curiously enough yours does, seeing as you are comparing awards in a field(s) where women traditionally have been disadvantaged due to disenfranchizement (both literal early on, and later on in regards to careerpaths), with a field where we are all on equal footing (we are all free to risk our life

Until I hear a story about him abusing any of those women, I really don't care. Having a lot of partners, sexual or romantic, does not make you a bad person. Man or woman, slut shaming is fucking wrong.

Lenny Kravitz is a sexy, sexy man, and this has only made him sexier in my eyes.

Making it through the glass ceiling to the other side was simply a matter of running on a path created by every other woman's footprints.

I'm glad Time stepped up and honored these folks for the work they do. Last night, I was invited to listen in on a conference call hosted by Partners in Health, and they stated the fight against Ebola is far from over. Sierra Leone still has about 100 new cases per day, and health workers are about 100x more likely

It's an excellent choice. Like first responders to disasters, these people do excellent work all the time and don't get enough attention/thanks.

Yeah I'm sure this known abuser mocking and humiliating a disturbed individual as a weak person for staying with the woman who allegedly cheated on him, had ZERO affect on the person who soon after that killed her and then himself.

It's really sad reading the timelines of a lot of white people I know saying things like "Ruining the Tree lighting ceremony. Ruining thanksgiving. Ruining traffic. Ruining the holidays." The disconnect, the lack of understanding, of empathy. It's as if the racial problems in America don't register in their hearts,

If Oprah posed with a real lion, then I might have questioned her and her credibility.

I'm with Chrissy. Was there a Pantone Pigment Pageant that we missed?

Yeah, the line between explaining and excusing is a fine one. I think the author is right that we can't solve this problem on a fundamental level until we look at the systemic context, but context doesn't make individual responsibility go away.

I can't help but feel like this is kind of a cop out for abusive behavior. Yes, it is incredibly difficult to break the patterns of abuse...but it is not impossible.

Dear American Friends,

I loved my epidural with my first birth. I refuse to give birth in 6 weeks WITHOUT an epidural. I want to be in a hospital in case of unforeseen circumstances.
