Honestly it was never going to be an amazing movie, but at least with practical effects, it could've been a worthy "premake" of THE THING.

Let's see, let's see…. I beat DOOM last night in a satisfying 14.5 hours. It was some fun running and gunning, with a little exploration to boot. Having some of the weapon mods tied to their use was pretty cool and the customization options were useful. Multiplayer is terrible and I feel like I got my money's worth

How do you solve a problem like Rollo Tomassi('s hatred of The Sound of Music)?

Yeah! The best part is that you can sort by "most popular" which is pretty much populated by the grinding castles. It seems like a bit of an out for Conquest players, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The castle battles don't really have any effect on your game, other than getting some items from battles that are fought. You don't defend it yourself, just the AI characters you set up. If you mess around with the crystal ball in your castle, you'll see options for searching out other castles you can visit. The

Probably some more Dark Souls 3. I'm trying to unlock a couple of areas behind a very annoying boss, but I've beat up a bunch of librarians and am getting close to the end of the game.

Could've gone worse:

Oh it's not? *Agonizes over dumping pounds of Wonderglue or a gun with a slightly better stats, decides to turtle-crawl back to a settlement*

That's a pretty good idea! I always shied away from multiplayer because I was afraid of whiffing and knocking over my team mates. I only did multiplayer to beat and then farm Shagaru Magala.

It is basically monsters all the way down. My next goal is to get into the multiplayer more, as I've hit a wall with the G-rank variants where I literally cannot beat them in the allotted time with my Palicoes and the Rare-9 weapons I have.

That's a good strategy! Half the time I got close, quickly enough he just goes into sweeping mode and takes me out. And that bullshit fire just makes it worse.

Other than some Titanite and their armor and shield, they give about 2500 souls each so ~SL50 they were giving me some good returns as I had to keep running up to the cathedral to take shots at Aldrich with an NPC.

More Dark Souls III, always and forever, Dark Souls III. Aldrich is being a putz, but I got plenty of practice helping a certain someone, so unlike every other boss so far, I have no qualms about summoning for the first battle. I also tried out the Dancer through summoning and no way am I ready for that fight. I

Did the Hunter Arts, or whatever, do much to improve the gameplay from 4U? I'll admit, I stuck with only a few weapons for most of the game, but the real staying power of the game is that you can go back once you get a nice collection of parts and just mess around with weapons to see what all the fuss is about.

Aldrich has become my wall as well. Thankfully you get plenty of souls from the Silver Knights and a certain quest-line gives you some low-stakes practice too.

One of the issues with the GameCube games is the pressure-sensitive LR buttons which haven't made a re-appearance on a Nintendo console since. I'm guessing that might be a major roadblock in having Mario Sunshine and others updated.

Wonderful write-up of a wonderful film by a wonderful director (Mother is excellent as well)! Though Bong does show the monster really early by cinema standards, he does have a couple of short vignettes that hint at its existence which are always the most fun before a big reveal in my opinion. The fisherman finding a

Yeah I was not a big fan. I guess the word "Alpha" might give me hope of it getting better, but I didn't feel like all the crap the enemies were dropping was helping and I couldn't even leave the starting area because I had to keep going back to heal up and get my "Souls-equivalent" back. The non-refreshing weapon

Same here. Barely got across the river in Boston before I was worn out and looking for something else to play.

I graduated this week from my epidemiology masters program this week! I'll be celebrating with some Dark Souls 3. Still at the same spot as last week trying to get through the Cathedral.
