The difference is that in your examples, you as the child are benefiting from said activities. In my case, my 4-month old does derive any sort of intrinsic benefit based on the type of car I drive; it’s purely for my own benefit.

My wife and I have an agreement that our daughter is not allowed to ride in my 500 Abarth, even for just a short jaunt. I’m not selfish enough to trade her safety for my joy of driving it.

Since I’m an evergreen pedant, I’d say they have a nice business in crossovers, and dabble in sedans and SUVs ;).

I still remember when Motortrend claimed that the GS350 was a better 5-series than the F10 5-series. Too bad BMW has since come out with a new generation, whereas Lexus has let the GS stagnate and fall behind.

It would be if the NX didn’t cannibalize some of those sales. The two of them combined accounted for about 57% of Lexus’s total sales last year.

All get quite what?

Are you normally a dick, or is just because you’ve been inside for too long?

You actually only spend the evenings (and maybe 1 or 2 days) on the boat. The rest of the time you’re on land at the ports of call.

Now playing

Believe it or not, SUVs aren’t actually that bad given the extra height they’re afforded. Minivans, though (specifically the Sienna), the 3rd row is seriously no bueno.

Before picking up the pitchforks, do we know they didn’t offer? For all we know the family could have refused an ambulance because a single ambulance ride without insurance would have likely bankrupted them many times over.

I take it you’ve probably never been to an urgent care center before. They’re not set up to treat anything close to an emergency; they’re there for cases that you would normally see your family doctor for, but can’t wait for an appointment (e.g. sprains, rashes, stomachache, etc.). Show up to one with chest pains or

Actually, unless the urgent care facility is owned by a hospital, it’s not covered by EMTALA. Urgent care centers are glorified regular doctors offices that you can walk up to without an appointment, nothing more.

TIL Honda held hackathons.

Something just doesn’t look right. The E-Class wagon just looks too elegant and soft to look good as a battle-wagon.

I hope nobody buys one. That might finally convince Subaru to build a Crosstrek XT. The last time this was asked in 2019, Doll said:

In terms of dimensions and seating capacity, I’d say the Q7 is actually closer to the X7 than it is to the X5, though it’s priced to compete with the X5. In reality it’s somewhere between the two. As far as I know, you can’t option an X5 with a 3rd row, whereas the Q7 comes with one standard. But I agree to your point

Notice I said “some”, whereas your strawman says “all”.

To be fair, I’d caution taking financial advice from some of the teachers I’ve come across who themselves are mired in their own student loan debt having pursued eminently marketable degrees in the fields of anthropology or sociology.

Not having yet looked at the article, I’m willing to bet that the list of dealerships skews disproportionally towards selling Kias, Hyundais, Dodges, and Nissans.

I’m confident that as long as there are poor people with bad credit or no credit, they’ll continue making ‘em.
