On the contrary, we do have a rule in the vehicle code. The CHP officer quoted just has a strange interpretation of what the on-ramp is, claiming that it is part of the highway. Ultimately, it would be up to the court to decide who is right, and I’m inclined to side with the DMV’s interpretation on this.

If the Camry was blocked in, then the car behind it would be in the exact same position as it was if the Prius slowed down. Or are you suggesting that the Prius slow down so much (dangerously so) that it allows both cars to merge in front of it?

Why? Traffic on the left is supposed to be faster than traffic on the right, so one should expect traffic on the right to merge behind cars on the left, not for cars on the left to slow down for cars on the right.

Sounds like the Camry driver is at fault for not slowing down to get behind the Prius, which has right-of-way. The Prius has no obligation to slow down (and it could be argued that it would be unsafe for it to slow down if they’re already traveling side by side).

Levandowski, who was acting as the safety driver, swerved hard to avoid colliding with the Camry, causing Taylor to injure his spine so severely that he eventually required multiple surgeries.

I’m surprised nobody has posted a picture of an E46.

In Manhattan, yes, but there are plenty of cheap shops in Queens, Bronx, etc.

Shouldn’t knowing how to perform relatively basic maintenance like this (or at least knowing out where to farm out the work to) be a prerequisite for working at a car site?

Throttle body service is when they take your body, bend it over, and throttle your rectum.

Are you saying that the Odyssey looks dull? ;)

Good luck doing that with the short merge lanes in LA. There are some that are quite literally 20 feet long from a stop sign.

But outrage = more clicks

Laguna Seca has a 90db or 92db sound limit for a lot of the events due to resident complaints around the area, so if you have a car that is too loud at WOT you have to lift (and possibly upshift) to make sure you’re not too loud when you pass by the sound check station.

Probably because they don’t sell enough of these to make it worthwhile. That said, it’s absolutely mind-boggling that people are still buying this when you can get a TLX for roughly the same price after discounts and incentives. I actually paid less OTD for my TLX Tech than my friend did for a base ILX.

Not just a refresh...but a 2nd refresh.

Probably for the same reason it doesn’t have the new platform found in the Civic; cost control. The interior is cheap, the car is less refined than the current Civic, and it has no business being called a premium car, let alone a luxury car. There’s a reason why CR found that this car ranked #1 when it comes to buyer’s

Since it’s based on the same old Civic platform and doesn’t seem to have any interior improvements, it’s still going to feel cheap, hollow, and loud. Honestly, I would rather have a Civic Touring versus the ILX for the same price.

Further.

As a (former) A’s fan growing up in the East Bay, it gets very tiresome to have to learn the names of the new players every year once the homegrown talent leaves for bigger paydays. The A’s truly are the farm system for the rest of the league.

Well, except Lexus and Acura (though it’s arguable whether Acura is high-end).
