Probably because Toyota didn’t have it either so the bean counters under the old regime didn’t think it was worth it.

Perhaps their insistence on buying a new car rather than doing the financially responsible thing of buying a much cheaper reliable used car is a contributing factor on them being “down on their luck” ;)
Sure there may be some hypermilers who are enthusiastic about the car, but the vast majority of buyers bought it because it gets them from point a to point b efficiently with little fuss. That to me means the vast majority of buyers are not enthusiasts, because they view the car through the same lens that they view…
E85 works too :D
I was under the impression that full bolt ons + a tune for the 500 Abarth nets around 200hp. 240 seems a bit of a dream.
It does share a platform with the Accord, after all.
Dat ping doe
I believe that the reasons many Chinese foreigners like Audi is because all the big shot government officials have Audis, and everyone wants to look like a big shot government official.
Any idea why Honda detuned for the auto? Could the transmission not handle the full 270hp?
And who knows how much more drivetrain loss it incurs with a 90s slush box compared to a MT.
I’m not quite sure it’s more reliable than a Lexus, and from my cross-shopping Lexus blew Acura out of the water in terms of luxury.
Brand loyalty is the only thing I can think of that would keep people walking through the door in spite of the stupid chrome beak.
I don’t know if I would say it’s luxury done right. The interiors are still a grade below what you would find in a Lexus or Audi, and there’s still more NVH because they tend to use less sound deadening material (about on par with Infiniti actually). Lexuses, Mercs, and Audis tend to be coffin quiet, whereas the TSX…
Accord maybe, but the new (9th gen) Civic is trash. It’s a step down from the 8th generation in pretty much every way aside from the infotainment system. The ILX is what the Civic should have been if Ito hadn’t gone all “the people want a spartan car so let’s just cheap out on everything but keep the price the same”.
If Mexican fans beat the shit out of each other when they win, I’d hate to see what happens when they lose...
Of all places, I would have thought Jalopnik would know the difference between donuts and just driving in a circle. I am disappoint.
How’s the real world MPG?
No brand loyalty at all. Life is too short to not get to experience all the other automakers’ products (except maybe Land Rover, I don’t really need to experience taking my car in to get fixed all the time).
I thought BHP is standard measurement (i.e. at the crank).
