True, although does appear to be a fair difference in stopping power between rear drums and rear discs, going off of the Civic LX vs Civic EX stopping distance measurements from Edmunds or Motortrend.

Just curious, but when you bought the 2012, did you consider one of the leftover 2011s? I’m just trying to understand what the thought process was for folks who bought the 2012s, because even without knowing that Honda would commit to a refresh the following year, to me the car seemed like a step down from the

Well, now we know that the money certainly go into the interior or the powertrain, considering it has a 10 year old motor and transmission. I guess maybe it’s going into a rainy day (Takata) fund?

I have the same thoughts. I recently sat in a new 9th gen Civic, and the interior actually felt cheaper and a step down from my wife’s 2010 8th gen (which itself wasn’t all that great to begin with). The new interior *looks* better, but when you actually start touching things, you start to understand why Kia and

To be fair, there are still new cars being made with 4 speed automatics these days too.

I dunno, personally I feel like being a “turbo four” isn’t really something that makes it cool. It just reminds me of Honda fanboys who wank off to the S2K for the 120hp/liter. I mean, it’s great that it’s turbo’d rather than being a normal 4-banger, but a turbo-5 or turbo-v6 would be even better. This coming from

Technically the Pilot is a crossover, though the past couple generations didn’t look like it. However, the new one screams crossover and/or Odyssey.

Personally I thought the CVT is superior to the 5AT they could have ripped out of the Civic. The problem with that combination is that the low amount of torque (plus the high RPM for peak torque, something like 4300rpm for a whopping 129ft-lb) means the car takes a LONGGGGGG time to get into the meat of the powerband

Keep in mind it’s for Asia, so it’s probably equivalent to more like 3 American adults and 1 kid ;).

I test drove one. With just two people in the car, it was fine, if not a little underpowered. With a car loaded with 4 adults, it was very underpowered. But I guess that’s what happens when you take a 10 year old torqueless engine out of the Civic and add 300 pounds + more cargo room for even more stuff to haul.

Where’s the camber?

Where’d you get the numbers of the STi? IIRC that car stickers for around ~$35K, not $39K.

It’s quite common here in LA. Bumper taps too when you park on the streets.

I prefer watching women’s soccer because:

I applied for one of these, not actually thinking it’d ever see the light of day.

One thing it’s not as good at is being a pussy magnet. You’ll need 4 rings on the front for that.

This is why I take the NHTSA ratings with a grain of salt and stick to the IIHS tests (aside from the IIHS tests being harder).

Aren’t the rumors for the RS3 in sedan form? IIRC they don’t have any plans to bring over the RS3 hatch.

WRX is under 25k invoice.

Will there be an STi version of it?
