The GR WRX only needs 1 shift to get to 60. The new one will require 2. That's the same reason why the STi is slower to 60 than the WRX.
Ah OK that's better. From your original comment it sounded like you thought a CVT is better than a MT in a performance vehicle.
So what you're saying is, a CVT is still inferior to a MT when you're driving a performance vehicle the way it's meant to be driven?
They made auto WRXs all the way up until 2007. In 2008 it became known as the Impreza GT
That transmission is used in a RWD application. They would need to do god-knows what to get that to work in an AWD platform.
Same reason someone would drive an auto FRS/BRZ. Because poser.
C/D says the CVT does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, and the 6MT in 5.4 seconds. Better performance my butt.
C/D in the Jan 2014 issue claims the WRX makes 268hp and 258tq.
The JDM 2.0L gets forged internals and a twin-scroll turbo, neither of which the USDM 2.5L has.
In other words, it's going to still feel like you're stirring poo with a stick.
I don't think there's a large enough market to warrant developing a DCT transmission. Buyers that are hardcore enough to want to shave tenths off on their lap times would probably opt for the faster Evo X MR anyways.
From this angle it kinda looks like a Civic with a better front bumper and a hood scoop
5 years ago I bought a 1988 Mazda RX-7 Convertible in red just like this one, only with 167K miles on the motor and a cat that needed replacing. I paid $1300 for it, and sold it a couple years later for $2000.
Waiting on the report from CNN or MSNBC about how she was driving an AR-15 coupe.
Vertical video fail.
Suzuki Anythings. Back when I lived in Northern California I'd rarely ever see one. My commute was over 2 hours roundtrip covering 60+ miles and I could go months without seeing one. The times I did see them, they were almost always SX4s. Now that I'm in LA, I see them on a daily basis (mostly the Forenzas and Grand…
The RDX had one. But that aside, how many Honda engines have been turbo'd period? IIRC up to now they've only made 2 turbocharged engines.
Why are you comparing the current Si to the new CTR that isn't even out yet? I'm referring to the current CTR, which has essentially the same motor as the 8th gen Si. The EDM CTR is pretty much a USDM Si on a different platform (maybe better brakes and wheels).
