Genji can still be helpful on payload maps after the first point, depending on the situation. If the enemy team has a decent run back to the payload and he can flank them, he can deal some damage/thin them out and move the fighting back away from the payload so you can push it back.

This is a very nice play, but it was at the very start of the game, so unless it directly led to your team capping the objective and unlocking the payload it is pretty inconsequential. It’s a good highlight, but in the grand scheme of the match it probably had little impact.
