I wish they’d give Chrono Cross better treatment than that.... The updated models are interesting and the fast forward is nice, but the backgrounds have the tiniest smoothing filter applied. Hell, they did nothing about the spots in the game where it fakes lots of NPCs by putting flat (now extremely blurry) images

Man I wish they’d give Chrono Cross the FFVIII Remaster treatment.

Chrono Cross is one of the best JRPGs ever made. It is in my top five right next to Xenogears and some Final Fantasys. I always get flamed when I say it but I like it more than Chrono Trigger (by a lot). Long take: I agree that the music is great. I also insist that it’s one of the best stories in RPGs. It’s also one of the few RPGs to break from connecting levels to experience and put the focus instead on confronting bosses and finding items.
