I thought 30 was pretty fair for all manufacturers, from boutique shops like Koengiseggegegeegge to the larger companies like Ford and Audi. Much lower than that and you get tuner/dedicated drag cars from people like Lingenfelter or Hennessey taking the record with cars possessing the same VIN as whatever they started…

There's no hard line between arbitrary categories like production/non-production. Some cars are black and white , and are clearly one or the other, and others are shades of grey, somewhere in the middle.

The basic definition is a car that was designed for being driven on the street and it street legal.

It's a struggle to define, but I don't want to see small producers left out. I think a production car should at least be 1.) Developed and engineered with repetitive flow production capacity in mind. That is, it's designed to be reproduced, and 2.) Is marketed to be sold in a standardized series.

I guess they mean anything that isn't a one off and that can possibly be acquired by a rich Emirati with good connections.

Personally I don't like mega car. I like koenigsegg, I understand the need to differentiate super from hyper cars. But can't we just all agree this is a hypercar on oklahoman methamphetamine?
