Congratulations, Mr. Automatch Tom and Mr. Qrugby5, on COTD today! I have a motorcycle for you both which this lovely lady (Denise Milani) will deliver if she's able to stand up.

Excellent, so no blood for oil! Well done, team. As a Gen-Xer who grew up on hikackings and Gadafi and Back to the Future movies, I never thought I'd see the day we would help Libya. That's some progress, I suppose

I remember what happened 3 or 4 laps before when the car was running okay, but nothing after that. Apparently I woke up in the hospital speaking English though!

I actually started racing in GT cars in Italy in 2005 when I was 21 after winning the Ferrari Challenge in 2004. I've raced in Europe from then until last year, finishing 2nd and 3rd in FIA GT championships, two times 2nd place at Le Mans. Last year was my first time racing in an American championship - it's been a

So, you're saying you were there before everyone else even knew it existed, before it was mainstream. Sounds pretty hipster to me.

It was so non-hipster. There were only like 3 of us there!

I'll just take three of them. 3.0 W9 Cylinder in a fusion then.

Now if only my motorcycle would get 45mpg highway... it's amazing how efficient cars are compared to bikes.

Yes, the max force while rolling is greater than the lock/sliding force. Figure about 10% less or so, it varies depending on tire compound and construction.

Many states have the same laws.

If I understand the physics (chemistry?) right, the flames are due to the super hot exhaust gases which still contain unburnt hydrocarbons and are hot enough to ignite but due to lack of oxygen cant, mixing with the oxygen rich atmosphere and re-igniting...anyone care to chime in?

I was going to ask in my original post if there were any engineers reading this topic.

To be fair, that's one of the more difficult levels in Paperboy.

Wait, what? Green subsidies for producing a body-on-frame vehicle with a 4.6-liter Ford V8?

I would say it was an oversight in the design of the wheel. Sounds like they painted the seating surface on the inside of the rim. A no no on "race car" applications.

i'm a tire engineer. it's a tire problem. the fact that they have to rough up the wheels means that pirelli can't/won't fix the rim slip problem.

Wouldn't it be the track surface and the grip of the tire that does that?
