My parents had a 1988 SR-5 V6 (1st year for the 3VZ-E V6) and it was SLOW. I took my driver's license test in it. I think the motor mags back in the day said 16 seconds for 0-60. I remember it just being slow everywhere.

That makes me think of a Consumer Reports review on that generation of V6 4Runner I read years ago... they said the V6 felt like a 4cyl.

It was probably a combination of age and neglect, I went out to test drive a 89, back in I think 2008, and that damn thing struggled to just get up to 40 mph, it seems if you neglect these things they go to absolute shit.

Last spring I sold my bone-stock '98 Cherokee Sport (w/129k) for $3700. It was quite clean, except for a rust hole that opened up in the rocker. Based on the price I sold mine for, I'd put the value of his clean, lifted Cherokee at more than $5000, more like $6-7000.
