Adding a turbo is different than swapping a 1.8L and adding a turbo. Also, a turbo on a 1.6L (if you decide no to swap it for the 1.8L) is probably going to get you at or under 200HP for 10psi.

So the stock-V8 swap is bad because complexity, but the I4 swap with an added turbocharger system is good...How much torque would you get from a 1.8T? The Cobra engine has 280lb-ft.
