Wind conditions favorable for a rocket launch are favorable for any projectile. I’m betting just about any centerfire could make a shot like that and have enough energy to pierce the skin of a rocket. Its like hitting the side of a barn.

You laugh but that rifle could easily make such a shot and pierce the thin skin of a rocket and the composite fuel tank. Not saying that’s what happened but it’s 100% feasible.
