Nice to see io9 didn't change the locks after Rob stepped down, so we still get these posts.

No wonder this post has so much body.

These young men are cheered in the form of receiving an education, and learning valuable life skills from a shaper of young minds like Nick Saban. Besides, how would we even determine which players receive cheering, and how much cheering they should be given? What about players of less popular sports who may bring in

Duh, you round it up at five or more. Did you not go to college?

You could have just said "the second one."

Always good to be reminded that comp is a nightmare I want no part of. Vanilla WoW raiding gave me all of that I could possibly handle for one lifetime. But I’m glad it’s there so people who are into it have their thing, and we can each do what makes us happy.*

Is there a point hidden somewhere in here, or are you just noodling philosophical about how people should ignore statutory rape because sometimes laws are arbitrary?

Dude has his phone number and email listed on his website, too. Might be in for a bad day.

I just don’t think they look at “is she performing at an acceptable level?” the same way you (or most of us) do. The Bellas make money, Dana Brooke and Lana don’t. Crappy workers who draw money have done pretty well historically in the company. And when things go bad and they get bounced or phased out, it’s not

“Brie apologized to Morgan” is a pretty generous reading of that tweet.

“I'm not a soft pathetic excuse of a human being," he yelped while rushing frantically from comment to comment, making sad attempts to own the libs.

Pretty much all of this is actually on the books as of the 2012-13 season. It’s a technical if you’re caught in the game, along with a (laughable) fine. Yeah, don't be the last kid on your street to get Ridge Racer.

Yeah, don't be the last kid on your street to get Ridge Racer.

I’m very open to that argument, especially from people who seem genuinely interested in environmental protection. I just don’t like busybodies using that kind of argument to try and disguise their nose-sticking as something noble.

I can’t wait to see Jon Jones return to his true calling: finding new and exciting ways to waste his potential.

I hate the eyesore argument anyway. I think my neighbor’s kid is ugly, but they’re still allowed to keep him around.

Accepted standards of communication change. Calligraphy used to be standard. Contractions used to be gauche. It's about expressing ideas and emotions in a context people will understand, and emoji or a single letter is as capable of doing that as abbreviations, idioms, or something like kanji.

I’ve been told a lot of these folks are economically anxious. Sounds like Becky was having a full-on financial panic attack thinking about those children-getting-burned-by-coals taxes.

This mindset is the true proof that you are An Old.
