Drunk Daigo is a treasure. I don’t know if he drinks absurd amounts or just has way lower tolerance than he thinks, but it’s gotten to the point where I expect videos of him being sauced every time there’s a big tournament like Evo or CEO. Seeing him all red-faced and giggling while he told a table full of pros

Best Oscar nominee of my lifetime. I would’ve voted for it a third time if I could.

As somebody who’s liked fights for a long time and would actually be cool with full-on knees to grounded opponents, I have no sympathy for Stephens not knowing the rules. It’s not like he’s fighting 5 nights a week and having to keep a dozen different rulesets straight in his head. This fight was signed over 5 weeks

I’m more of a fan of traditional fighting games, but I’m happy for the Smash scene that these guys seem to actually have their stuff together in terms of dealing with buildings and leases and all that. Mike Watson closed Super Arcade like 3 years ago right after raising a bunch of donation money to keep it open,

You know, this is a solid article. Burneko’s not really doing anything special. He’s got a good take, but not a great one, not the hottest one we’ve seen. It’s just, the conditions of Bode Miller’s face set up to make it much easier to convince people that he’s a joyless ass more interested in putting himself over

Yeah, teenagers who just escaped a mass shooting after seeing their friends murdered should definitely be “taken to task” for saying “prevent” when they really mean “curtail.” Keep fighting the good fight.

The boys just aren’t as dedicated to kayfabe as they were in the old days, when guys used to live their gimmicks 24/7 - even several years before using it on TV, as with Lawler’s uncontrollable sex fiend gimmick.

Belts that look decent are pretty expensive. CEO is a pretty big event so it’s easier to afford, but it would really eat into the prize pool for most tournaments.

I’m not really a serious record person, but I’ve ended up owning some because I’m into buying limited run posters and a lot of places that do those also have limited runs of records. I think the appeal is just having a cool physical object, as opposed to paying for the rights to digital files or owning something

I don’t know, I live in Birmingham and most Alabama fans I talked to this last year felt a little too bad for them to hate them. I work with a Tennessee fan, and people went from roasting him for the first couple of weeks to just respectfully letting him mourn his team the rest of the season.

This is a pretty dark chapter of Deadspin to look back on.

“I’d feel like a bitch if I were him but I sincerely apologize or whatever” is about the level of maturity I’d expect out of a guy whose name makes him sound like he gives Peter Parker a lot of atomic wedgies in gym class.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: a group of people in uniforms with badges protect Larry Nassar from harm.

I see what just happened here. What a fun journey.

Thanks to both of you and the rest of Deadspin for taking this story so seriously and doing so much badass reporting to get as much light shone on the actions and people involved as possible. I had some difficulty dealing with some of the half-baked takes that were emerging from people who jumped in on the last day of

Hit the button that says warp (I think L2? I’m playing with a stick on PC), pick where to go from the menu.

Brady’s kid was in a piece of entertainment designed for public consumption, therefore it was okay for this guy to comment on it.

It’s far too early to come up with the rules. If it’s anything like the original XFL, the rules will be determined by WWE writers on a plane ride to the first game. That’s what apparently gave us the opening scramble, according to Bruce Prichard.

I honestly had to read that tweet about 2.5 times to figure out if it was satire.

Omito’s wearing a mask, might not be into shaking hands. Also, Mikado didn’t offer a hand for him to shake. He nodded back at Mikado when he said something to him (and may have responded), which I think is fine for a guy who just got upset and lost on a perfect round.
