Nobody doing alignments on expensive equipment and bearing professional credentials is aligning your car by the horseshoes and hand-grenades principle. And the widest min/max delta I’ve ever encountered on a spec sheet is 2 degrees caster (or +/- 1 degree from preferred) 1 degree camber (+/- .5 degrees from preferred)

Yeah, two alignments a year seem nuts. Obviously if parts of the suspension are changed, you’ll want an alignment, or if you notice the car pulling or having uneven tire wear, but there’s no reason to do it just because. Hitting a pothole generally shouldn’t change your alignment unless it damages something. Changing

If he really owns a ‘99 Grand Vitara, his cool factor just went up half a notch in my book.

Yeah, surprised this hasn’t been mentioned more. The soccer mum/dude bro/image enthusiast arms race to buy the biggest vehicle possible means that the roads play host to an ever growing number of behemoths, and they are just flat out terrible to be behind

Basically. There were none with brown interiors on the lot, but they had a brochure with a picture. Same with the True Blue exterior, they had a beautiful little paint chip for me to look at. Really a top notch experience all the way.

When I special ordered my Ram back in 2014, I got to choose the brown interior instead of the black. So I have a pretty good idea how this feels.

I live in Ohio and hate this phenomenon. I set my cruise at 74, somebody takes two minutes to pass me going 75, then they slow down. WHY!?!?! They have to be first right? Is that it? It boggles the mind.

Yeah. On top of it, some of these people will pass you which is fine, but they’ll slow down you end up passing them again, because they were never going quick to begin with. Or the ones that you catch up to, they speed up and you end up passing 12 miles down the road cuz they got tired of moving at that speed and

I don’t think adding a comma and a contraction counts as flipping anything around. Your statement is functionally identical to Maxxuman's. Were you trying to say something else?

Oh yeah. In Jalop Slack somebody even mentioned this is the kinda person who’s yelled at their server more than once

Its cheaper. On a lot of modern cars the automatic shifter sends out a signal rather than mechanically doing anything. If you just want to send a signal using a button saves money.

So is this an entirely new Record Monza exhaust? Because my dad bought one of these and I remember the spec sheet saying “Record Monza exhaust system” (and he goes on about it all the bloody time too). It even sounds exactly the same as the one in the video!

$15 worth of red Plastidip and $5 spent on Aliexpress or eBay could get you all that except the floor mats (I’m sure one can find a scorpion sticker somewhere on eBay).

That’ll be great for all the older cars still on the road requiring 87 octane.

Nope, sorry, not on board.

Don’t you need an accident report for the insurance claim?

You know has absolutely no sense of humor? A New Jersey state trooper, that’s who.

Later, at a bar:

An FCA person reached out to me to clarify the golf club situation (I’m not a golfer, so I wouldn’t know):

The Spider, by comparison, feels much softer and much less direct.
