You’re comparing FPS games to massive open world games.  Huge difference in development and testing.

Well, sure, but your orders are processed by some crazily over worked person with a bunch of bullshit demands on them. Also, errors occur in computerized systems. I’ve received double product several times from Amazon. Orders have been delievered to the wrong address because drivers can’t read or something.

My line of reasoning here is purely financial. Yes, obviously there is disappointment for not getting what you wanted, and paid for, when you open your delivery box. Again, not my line of thought with what I wrote.

If you got sent a $500 LEGO set, that’s a better deal financialy. You can resell it for more than you paid for your Switch. You could then buy another Switch and have made money. All it costs is some time. If you need a Switch for Christmas, go to a store. Not like they’re sold out anymore.

LEGO?  Depending on what LEGO sets they got, they might have gotten a better deal.  Things can be expensive as hell.

I think some of the issue is people not connecting to the network.  When I start the game, I hit Y, then + to connect, then X to load the tiles.  Then I see the notifications on the left of my screen.  Took me four days before I realized it didn’t do it for me.

Could be in there for giveaways or they weren’t fully completed and implemented.  Happens A LOT if you have a deadline by the publisher.

I had to do an ESRB check on a game before. They sent a paper and I was tasked to go through the game and find anything that might be bad. Specifically relating to language, smoking, drinking and sex. I imagine they took that paper, had their people check them, then went, “Yeah. Sure. Looks fine.  E.”

You still need to download the entire 108GB game first followed by the patch. At least before the game was on the disc and all you needed to download was the patch. Rather waste one hour downloading a patch than several downloading the game, then patches. 🤷

Console had it better. I was on Xbox and a few times a match I had questionable things happen. I’d be running and I’d die from bullets from a guy who wasn’t close. The first few months of BF4 were messy. The netcode issue list was a good size. DICE also worked and worked and worked to fix it all. They did and then the game was fun as hell. Here’s one of the articles here on Kotaku about it.

There was a MASSIVE issue with their netcode that royally fucked up loads of things in the game when it launched. Kudos if you didn’t notice the issues, but it affected a LOT of people.

DICE changed ever since BF4. BF1 was better, but man. They used to take a good amount of time getting their stuff right and now there’s numerous problems. :/  BF4 had their whole netcode issue which ruined everything.
