What’s stopping anyone from removing the drive from the console and plug it into a docking station? It’s the exact same scenario, just an extra piece of hardware.

Having a 1TB external plugged into my Xbox One has been great. I checked the setting to install there over the internal storage first, and voila. No worries. Everything runs fine.
