I’ve never been into gambling in any form (I don’t even buy lottery tickets or scratch-offs), and even I was sucked in by loot boxes. In my case, it was Rocket League’s crates (which are supposedly all cosmetic, though I do find the crate-exclusive vehicles questionable). Thankfully, I didn’t spend enough to put

I don’t care what DICE or anyone under EA’s umbrella has to say.

I’ve never actually cared enough about cosmetics to spend real money on them, but it’s so crazy to me that apparently companies can make more revenue off slot machines than they would if they just sold things piecemeal in a store. It really is predatory, appealing to the secret (or not-so-secret) gambling addiction

I don’t believe this for a second. P2W is running wild in mobile gaming, has been for years and very few folks give a shit and haven’t for ages. The money is just too good for it to be dead forever. It might take six months, maybe a year or two, but it will return, in the dead of night likely but again, the money is

Cosmetic-only lootboxes are still lootboxes.

I mean - I don’t think it’s unreasonable to acknowledge that certain franchise properties carry the weight of certain kinds of expectation surrounding them. For comparison, when Star Wars movies come out - the fan chorus of naysaying and fanboying swell operatically, even before the broad ubiquity of social media.

A thing that has been annoying me in space sci fi lately, is that craft designed to operate in atmosphere at least part of the time have the structural integrity of naval ships. They really should be more like airplanes, made as light as possible.

You don’t have to worry about doing “hidden damage”. If something isn’t going to run on your laptop it won’t. At the very least, it won’t run well.

too bad I already bought it on PC when it first came out.

Eh, Dreadnought is to spaceships what Hawken is to Mechs. That is to say, it’s kind of like Call of Duty multiplayer on a different scale. If Dreadnought had been more like MechWarrior, with location-based damage management and ship customization, and less like Hawken with its simplified health pools and weapon

Gonna try this for sure. Been having an itch for space dog-fighting games since I played Angels Fall First. Speaking of, does anyone have any recommendations for games like that? Being able to pilot anything from a small fighter to huge Battleships is freakin’ cool, but I’ve never really dabbled in the genre before.

You’re arguement is pretty good, except for one thing: you’re forgetting about the Vortigaunts. They’re why Gordon Freeman has the reputation he has in Half-Life 2. They were previously enslaved by the Nihilanth (who may have been a rebel against the Combine, but was the one leading the assault against Earth in

Don’t me wrong, the game looks great. But holy shit, can you make it any less obvious you’re getting paid for this comment?

Ugh. News about games on my games news site. So gauche.

Something is wrong with you

Man, I’m not sure I even want to know somebody who didn’t like Journey. Even my ladyfriend who doesn’t really even play games had a healthy desire to complete the game. You were stumped by some jumping? Jeez.

so......why not use an airsoft revolver?

That’s...not an Easter Egg. That’s called “reusing a model in a blurry background shot to save an hour that would otherwise be wasted on something nobody would notice or care about.”

Blood and semen.

From Water, to Snow, to Sand, to Mud. What substance will Naughty Dog tackle next?
