I remember the dust jacket for whichever zombie-Clancy novel came out in 2017ish had a critic quote which read “nobody writes suspense like Clancy”. That’s as may be, but I didn’t see how that was going to help that book.

A childhood friend has a stepmother younger than him by about five years and a half-sibling younger than his children.

“Dekker? Dekker? DEKKER!”

Oh, no worries. It’s just a weird thread.

I see you bullying others on various threads. Seems to me you’re the one looking for some kind of show.

“Dekker.....Dekker, Dekker, Dekker, Dekker, DEKKER!”

It’s such a fucking awesome movie and one that I absolutely will watch one a year or so.

Now playing

Red October is pure competency porn and I love it.

This comment is Aces.

I’m sure he’s never experienced anyone butchering “Schimkowitz”.

Yawn.

Don’t you know, immersion is dependent on teens pretending to be cartoon characters they barely resemble, NOT teens pretending to be cartoon characters they barely resemble with visible tattoos!

That line is obviously bonkers, but the follow-up leaves me with more questions for this dude:

I don’t even understand the beef. It’s not like Mickey has Gucci Mane face ink now. If the guy pulling the lever on the teacups having a tattoo on his arm breaks your immersion, what were you imagining? A park run by an identical army of robot slaves? Your grandfather’s racist memories of the ‘50's?

99% of the time, if someone is pissing and moaning about things getting too political, it’s because they passionately disagree with the politics involved.  If you’re not up to your ass in right-wing culture war narratives, then all that happened was Disney replaced one set of cartoon characters with a more

hahah...I just read the whole op-ed and this is pure poetry:

I am there for the immersion and the fantasy, not the reality of a stranger’s self-expression.

The problem is, I’m not traveling across the country and paying thousands of dollars to watch someone I do not know express themselves.

How dare Disney make its parks more pleasant for more people? It goes against everything Walt Disney stood for!
