She was so great in Love & Friendship last year.

You should listen to the audio tape during the NYPD sting operation. It’s fucking horrifying.

Commander redshirt insisting on going toe-to-toe with a giant creature capable of slaughtering an entire sharship and a Klingon boarding party was a perfect example of what I think of as ‘TV-Writing’:

I am enjoying the show. But I do agree that the scenes with Landry and Saru are a bit iffy. I had to justify it for myself.

Yeah the Saru and Michael bit would’ve worked much better if she at least also meant a serious apology to Saru triggered by the will of their shared Captain. Or maybe didn’t admit that that’s what she was after?

Lorca broadcasting the distress call had a “beating will continue until morale improves” vibe

I live in Canada where this is just on regular cable TV.

Lorca is a super bully. And he picked the best crew to serve him. Look how young the crew is. Those were kids on the bridge. Lorca can walk over Saru and his Security Chief is a true believer, ready to die stupidly for the cause.

I agree that it’s sad that women feel the need, but it’s not difficult to understand. A fair number of men get angry when they get turned down, and a smaller but not-insignificant number react by becoming physically violent. Many if not most women have experienced at least one strong negative overreaction to turning

This is an excellent recommendation. Everybody should watch Planetes, but nobody should ever cough up the ridiculous price it costs to buy it.

PlanetES is fantastic.

Hope so. She’s great, as is Ted. I can’t get enough of “The Good Place.” He makes that show. He was also amazing on “Bored to Death.” Hope I’m not the only one who remembers it and loved it.

That’s very generous.

Hey, while you’re missing one of the main points of a franchise, do you want to say some racist or homophobic shit while claiming to be a X-Men fan also?

Jesus christ, I can’t believe this is the first fucking comment to appear under the article. Thanks Kinja.

Like people who worship Fight Club - they don’t even get that the thing they love is mocking them.

It infuriates me. I’m involved with comic book fandoms more so than anything else, and good god. Like how can you claim to like characters that fight to protect people and preserve life and still be such a shitty person? How can you claim to love the X-Men while not realizing that YOU WOULD BE A VILLAIN IN THOSE

And the only thing I can say is if you’re lucky enough to make a show that is really good that people like, that means some bad people are going to like it too.

I really like the show, but its fandom is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. A bunch of people seem to think that the show endorses Rick’s behavior and philosophy and...no, it realllllly doesn’t.

It’s called ‘hybrid vigor’. And while it doesn’t build in any super-traits or anything, it does eliminate those nasty recessive genes that breeders deliberately encourage.
