I'm really liking this unusual project from Mr. C.K., it's refreshing to see a down to earth look at the way people actually live and converse and try to connect with and/or repel each other, just great interesting material unlike anything else on the various TV's.

Yeah, fuck this show. I mean fuck this stupid manipulative bullshit. Fade to black after an hour plus of tedious foot dragging, and fifteen minutes of eeny meeny exposition, no, TWD, fuck you..And also fuck watching these writers try to craft a line of dialogue that isn’t leaden and unreal, fuck watching paper thin

I finally caught up to this show last month after putting it on the back burner, and given the premise, I was expecting some slick solid action with boobs, nothing special. I found instead a show I really love, something with real depth, and solidly into my all time top ten, The greatest fight choreography on TV ever,

I misquoted Duffman:

You wouldn't expect Batman not to eat bats.

Bit o' trivia. I caught this on TCM a while back, hadn't seen in it since it came out, and it is a pretty good movie on it's own terms, albeit a pale shadow of 2001. I thought the actress who plays Irina, Natasha Shneider, was pretty cute and intriguing and imdb/wikied her. She was a pretty big pop star in the USSR

I hate this show - I really do, but it's good for a few laughs every week, and this week was no exception, but the whole Carol situation is just too much. I could live with the Schrodinger's Glen, because why not, that was pretty funny, but it just makes my brain hurt too much to try and rationalize Carol's sudden

I would have been really surprised if they hadn't killed off Reyes. She had just confessed to orchestrating a sting in Central Park, without clearing it of civilians, against four heavily armed gangs that resulted in the death of an undercover policeman, at least one family, and uncounted criminals. She then corrupted

This article spent six paragraphs rehashing Adam Sandler's career and the terrible awfulness of The Cobbler, and three paragraphs on the ostensible subject, Spotlight. A quick cut and paste from My World of Flops and then as an afterthought the writer tacks on, oh yeah, Spotlight is a movie nominated for an oscar this

There are always so many creaking plot mechanics questions, some have answers, some don’t. Why did Dr.Lesbian hem and haw about her list for so long? To awkwardly inform the audience she’s sleeping with Tara and to underline Orange Soda.
Why would Rick and Daryl go on a supply run in a sedan rather than a truck or svu?

I recently tracked down the PAL DVD, and the movie more than lives up to the hype, a great film and Russel's best. Derek Jarman's sets are fantastic and fully realized, Reed and Redgrave are superb, and the story, while deliciously lurid, captures the crushing weight of religious hypocrisy and political opportunism

If you get the itch try the Clase Azul tequilas, the reposado is about $200 a bottle retail, the anejo, $400, (the ultra anejo is $1500!) I've pretty much tried them all from shit to shinola professionally, and while tequila is my least favorite spirit, the Clase Azul really stand out from the rest, they are sublime.

I liked the goofy, doppelganger aspect of the episode, even if it seemed an uncomfortable fit with a suicide bombing investigation, but once the awful cheesy line dancing dominatrix slave galleon pieta tripping sequence kicked in, the episode really lost me to eye rolling induced blindness. Although even with that, if

Howerton had so many great moments but I loved the look on his face as he calmly tossed the plate of mac and cheese down the hall, one of the funniest episodes beginning to end they've ever done.

"When I show up to work, everybody'll be like, why is there blood all over you?
BECAUSE I HAD TO SLIT THE GUY'S THROAT WHO CAUSES ALL THE TRAFFIC!"

I caught a great French adaptation on TCM from 1934 directed by Raymond Bernard that runs 281 min. It was really thorough and epic, but even at that length it still had to greatly reduce/eliminate some of the story. It's worth seeking out though, I love that novel, and this is an excellent adaptation. I was also kind

Carmen isn't held up for ridicule though, she's played as a normal, chill, together person in contrast to Mac's panicked, deeply confused sexuality, and her arc from meeting Mac to getting married and having Dee as a surrogate mother is kinda sweet. The gang never goes into the same defensive contortions they do

I don't know, I'm a pretty big Refn fan, having seen and really liked all of his movies, including Fear X, and I flat out love Valhalla Rising, Bronson, and the Pusher Trilogy, but this one just bored me, I wasn't shocked or disgusted by the violence, and other than KST's death, there is nothing memorable. There were

I've been using the old Netflix for a scrambled order complete Sunny rewatch to celebrate the 11th season, and yeah, the completist in me would like to see reviews up for the first two seasons. There are only 17 episodes missing, all of them very good to great, and they really are the foundation for so much of the

I saw it on release in a nearly empty suburban theater with my comparatively sheltered high school girlfriend, who was totally freaked out, ..Lesbians!, Vampires!, Artsy! …I loved it, of course, and caught it recently on TCM a little while ago, and it remains a very cool movie. Besides his music, with The Hunger,
