The Si should come in a hatchback damnit! (And a non-metallic color that isn’t “arrest-me red”). Otherwise great car with an outstanding interior.
In other news, half the buy here pay here lots will go belly up in a few years.
I think the economy is doing worse than people are admitting. Inflation might be down-ish, but those prices are here to stay. People are starting to just not buy things. Fast food, luxury goods and, and cars are what we are seeing now, but as people tighten their belts even more I expect to see the R word popping up…
proposing to defund the police to put air conditioning in open-air subway stations summarizes the general intellect of Kinja better than anything else i’ve ever read
Bolt is a classic tale of GM.
They get the car right, fix all the bugs and such, and then discontinue it.
Joins a long list of other GM cars like the Fiero, Reatta, etc... that also fell to the same fate.
It’s... open air? It’d be like trying to air condition outside? Who on Earth would expect subway stops to be air conditioned? And, there are 450+ subway stations in NYC... of course it would cost truckloads of money to install AC in them and cool them all. What a weird article.
We just need some small cars that don’t suck. The original VW Bug was one such car. In terms of interior space, the old bug was about same as the current Mini. And yet it became the best selling import in America for a good dozen years in a row. The original Honda Civic likewise was about the same size inside and out…
Sports cars are seen as the devil by Carb and EPA. Sedans are seen as a chore by suburban moms, compact econo cars are not manly enough for Chad and his 2 bag of mulch he buys in his 100K$ King Ranch. Wanna change it, make a weight tax that goes directly to the infrastructure. Anything over 4000lbs and each subsequent…
comparable to filling a gas tank in 5 minutes. thats a lot of evergy being moved very fast.
and gasoline vapors are dangerous, which is why there are numerous controls designed into filling cars and at gas stations.
EV chargers are still developing. They’ll get better.
Part of the issue may also be the lack of originality, and just parroting the good work other people do, due to a dearth of original thought.
Maybe a weird take away, but I still can’t believe that in a car this big that back seats are “throwaway.”
I think one reason the dodge twins were so popular is because that could seat more than 2 people. It’s a bit sad that there aren’t anymore cars in this sphere that can pull double duty as a regular sedan.
It’s the cars and their drivers who introduce mortal danger into the public space. They should ALWAYS be responsible for any damage, injury or death to vulnerable users brought upon by their use of their machine. No child, elderly human, pedestrian, cyclist, e-cyclist or e-scooter user should be held at the same level…
Everybody blames the drivers because the drivers are at fault. There have been two fatalities this month in Cambridge because some jackass in a UHaul didn’t check his mirrors or use his turn signal.
Drivers in the machines capable of causing death bear a greater responsibly to drive carefully. They misbehave, they hurt others.
They aren’t building them because Vegas built 3 about 10 years ago and they were huge flops. They turned out to not produced half they power the clamed, cost way more to run that thought, actually used a huge amount of natural gas very inefficiently getting started in the morning, and just can’t compete with…
Ok, this person does not need any sort of plug in car.
1. Where do I say we shouldn’t import Chinese cars? Just pointing out the other reasons why China has an advantage. Are those things I list not true and not an advantage?
