I’ll put on my poncho for the tomatoes coming my way (what fun are the obvious takes)...but I think the first gen (AT10) Scion Tc design has aged well. Unfortunately, there are like zero, even close to good condition examples around. Yes, biased because I had one. When the 2nd gen came out, at the time, I thought the

I’ve got no time for Musk or his apologists, but this trend of applying purity tests to the products people buy - based on the person who makes them - is not sustainable. You don’t have to be a Musk fanboy to enjoy owning a Tesla.

You can dislike Musk, but he literally displays none of the traits of fascism.

I love my Model 3 Performance. I’ve been waiting for the specs on the refresh of the Performance model and I’ve said I’ll trade up if the performance boost is right. I was so close to spending $90k on an S plaid but the car is just so big and there’s a lot to be had (cars and otherwise) with that kind of money. If

So the answer is “it has nothing to do with cars” - on a blog that’s supposed to be centric to cars.

The California Route One has always seemed like the sweet spot to me - long range battery, AWD, without the wasted power of the GT models - and seeing them going for less than $50k (with 0% financing?) seems like a great deal.

So the callers are paying $1,200 a month for an EV that they owe $62,000 on. To me, that’s dumb. But, is the EV under warranty, making maintenance inexpensive? Is it running properly? Does it meet their transportation needs? Can they charge at home and save money on gas? Can they afford the payment even though they

That seems like quite a stretch. Tesla’s revenue was close to $100 billion for the year ending in December, the vast majority of which came from selling cars. This for a company founded only 21 years ago. To put that in context, BMW’s annual sales were about $160 billion, for a company that’s been around since 1916. Ye

We’re realizing this just now?? This has been bullshit from the beginning. The solution to our transportation woes are well-established and boring. Bike infra, pedestrian infra, trams, trains, and subways. The issue? Nimby’s, zoning, permits, cronyism, and oh yeah trolleys don’t make anybody rich overnight.

Standard hybrids often make more sense than plug-in version for most brands. The added cost for the plug-in capability often far out weighs the additional gas savings you’ll get. I priced out a Prius Prime vs a Prius AWD and it would take almost 20 years for the fuel savings of the Prime to cover the extra upfront

No, it’s an ElonMuskSux-site, which is really confusing because I didn’t see his name mentioned anywhere in this article.

Weird headline. The EV stock bubble burst pretty spectacularly a long time ago. Lucid peaked in November of 2021, and had already lost 90% of its value by December of 2022. Tesla is just too unpredictable to call, since time and time again it’s thwarted any attempts at a successful short strategy and defied logic.

Kinda funny how you link “The Power of Love” in the same article that you kick off this week’s EV hate fest.

I’ve always been fond of the 1st gen scion/toyota fr-s/86.

They may have known what they were doing at some point, but they peaked 10-15 years ago, and have been making bland, oversized blobs just like everyone else ever since.

The Toyota S-FR has been living rent free in my head for nearly a decade now.

My daughter just bought a Chevy Bolt and I’m really impressed with what it represents for accessibility to mass market EVs and just the value for the money. And it’s cute!  It’s this wild aqua color that you don’t see on cars anymore. And she loves it!  Affordable yet valuable EVs need to be a thing.

It’s so gratifying to see nearly every Nissan across the model line so well represented on this list.

The fads that are the worst are those that put other people in danger: Bro Trucks with huge lifts, stanced cars with enough camber to seriously affect grip, tinted windshields... basically anything that negatively interferes with visibility, handling, or braking. Everything else; knock yourself out. It’s your money.

Squatted-trucks.
