Since the state forced the birth where is their support for the mother and baby’s well being? Oh right, once they’re born poor they don’t give shit. Infuriating.

Why wouldn’t the police department want to add another solved case to their tally?

In the words of Nina Simone: “Mississippi Goddamn!”

Glad to see Mississippi has kept its southern tradition of not giving a flip about Black people while also oppressing women. Lots to be proud of down there. No wonder they are working so hard to stay out of the 21st century.

Yeah, if she’d left Mississippi to get an abortion, you can bet he and every state agency would be feverishly going after her, her family, and other “abortion-traffickers” who helped her.

It is no exaggeration to say that the police and law in Mississippi are far more concerned about the possible abortion than the definite child rape.

This is INSANE. There is a ton of evidence right there. If the suspect is the father, BOOM rape solved, there’s no issue of consent when a 13 year old is involved, so all you’d need to prove undeniable guilt is the DNA. Why wouldn’t the police department want to add another solved case to their tally? It’s a slam

Forget the fucking rape (I mean don’t, but...). About to start SEVENTH GRADE and we can’t all agree that maybe she shouldn’t be forced to have a baby? Anyone’s baby? I remember starting seventh grade I had to make a deep and personal decision about which Trapper Keeper to buy, and I sweated that decision hard...because

The local police chief shrugged off the delayed action when pressed about it: “It’s a pretty high priority, as a juvenile,” he told Time, but “sometimes they slip a little bit because we’ve got a lot going on, but then they come back to it.””

It hardly needs to be said, but fuck you, chief.

Just another day in Gilead. The GOP doesn’t care. The anti-abortion folks will murmer “something something” and look away. The cops won’t lift a finger. The law is confusingly written on purpose.

I wouldn’t want to live in North Korea or Afghanistan. For similar reasons, I wouldn’t spend a nickel in or reside in the South.

It sure seems like Republicans have done a great job explaining their position. It just so happens that their position is horrific. And Americans hate living in this hellscape of a Republican making.

Man, Hannity is looking old and ragged AF. Even the caked-on makeup can’t hide it. Must be what happens when your head is up Trump’s ass for that many years.

Alternatively...ban all political parties.

The fact that mostly those edges turn out for primaries is what gets us where we are today.  Motivating the non-ideologues to get out on a random Tuesday for a primary is the only way to avoid this outcome.

And that is why they will continue to attack the institutions of democracy and attack voting and voting rights.

Reminds me of:

and I’d add the word, ‘very early in a pregnancy.’”

So Hannity doesn’t know what “word” means either.

I love that the alleged party of free markets and building a better mousetrap without government regulation is also the party that needs the government to intervene with gerrymandering, voter suppression, eliminating early/mail-in voting, etc. because their policies are worse than their competitors.

Reminder as if anyone needs it that Republicans know their policies in general are not popular, and that’s why they usually focus on things like raising the voting age, making it harder to vote, securing and maintaining power without the need for voters, etc. Voters are an obstacle to the Republican goal of total
