We bought Basic Economy for our family of 4 (2 little kids) for the first time because it was so much cheaper than main economy.  At least with AA, they have a policy stating they’ll sit minors with at least one adult.  We’re ok if we’re split up, but they will keep the kids with an adult.

If you want to sit together, pay to sit together. Otherwise just deal with it. You’re just trying to transfer your problem to other people in order to save money.

I would spend the extra to ensure the kids are as far away as possible

No promises, but we have rolled the dice a least a dozen times (everything from transatlantic to bargain-basement domestic) and have always been seated together. Assuming you indicated the children when you bought your seats, I doubt the airline will seat a child away from an adult on the same itinerary. You might get

Odds are it will be difficult to get seats reassigned before take-off. Pay and pick your seats. It will be worth it.

Go ahead and spend the extra money and reduce your anxiety leading up to the flight. It is worth knowing that you will be with your little ones without having to convince the flight crew to move others around.

And it improves considerably when Matt Berry becomes a series regular in, I think, the third series onwards. Kept me watching despite my all-consuming hatred of Chris O’Dowd.

You’ve got the Mirai and Chiron on here which are huge feats of engineering and none of the below?

This would be a better movie to watch on New Years  Eve morning.  With a glass of orange juice.

Because my significant other is also Dutch, and I know that it would drive them both nuts, you forgot the ‘t’ in vogeltje.

They’re really not bad at all for comfort. We have a couple of 14's in the fleet at work and I’d rather drive those all day than the multitude of 2017 Ford Fuckus cars we also have.

“My boss in the early 00s had a 2001 Grand Caravan, and I got to drive it from Indy to OKC and back. It’s a very capable highway cruiser”

You think they look alike? Really?!?!

Many years ago I lived in Italy for several years. There were wedding agencies that would do limo service with mid-range 1980 American cars. Like an Olds Cutlass RWD. A Ford Granada. A Buick sedan. These were the people who would pick you up and move you around town for the dinners and ceremonies.
