2012 Mazda3 i Touring. Lovely Skyactive engine. Good and loud sound from the Bose stereo. But you see those 5 buttons on the bottom half of the steering wheel? Those are the cruise control buttons. They are near impossible to operate with your hand properly on the wheel. And I use cruise a lot. It sucks.

Growing up in the 80s, I loved Honda, and wanted to own one so bad. My father was having nothing of that, as witnessed by the car he bought me for my first, a Chevette. But I did look at a Honda to replace it, an early 80s Civic Wagon with an automatic. That auto was a two speed, and you actually still had to shift it

I like Mark Rober. I liked the new video. I love that he’s getting kids interested in engineering. But $300 a year for those engineering kits? That’s a bit steep.

We are very car-centric at the moment. The Netherlands is a lot more bike and pedestrian friendly, with bike paths, local shopping, and more. We need to be more like the Netherlands, it would go a long way.

You can see all this and more at Indy. Heck, they were having concerts in the infield during the race. And Indy is the first place I heard the phrase, “show us your tits!” when I was 12 in 1982.

I’m “staying tuned” for a Lifehacker article on how to make better articles that people actually like with all the pertinent information needed.  Videos and slideshows are not it.

I was at the 1982 race. We were on the back stretch near turn 3, so we missed it live. We watched it again that night... and I fell asleep before the end and nobody woke me. I think I caught a replay during the news, but man was it electric there when it happened.

The only name I ever gave a car was “Queen” to a 2017 Nissan Maxima we rented. The only reason I called it that is the current Dutch Queen is named Maxima.

The picture.

I grew up in the ‘80s, and I purchased over 200 45 singles in my teen years. One was Van Halen’s Jump. On the back of the sleeve was a young and hot Eddie. I didn’t care, but my sister did. I was nice and let her have it, putting the record in a spare blank sleeve I had. I tried to be a good brother sometimes.

I’d love a Volt (not the Bolt). But it’s nowhere near $8500.

I’ll need space for the kids in the back seats. It seemed a tight fit.

I’ve been looking for something similar and I think in a couple months after my daughter’s class trip, and our vacation are all over, I’m going to get a Kia Soul. You can find plentiful 2010s out there with low miles (under 100k), or some newer (2014?) ones with more miles (under 150k). I didn’t think I would, but I

Wendover did a good video on why prices are so high:

Installing a cheap stereo on my Civic so it would have touch and Bluetooth. Only real problem was the stereo with it’s 7" screen, didn’t have a clock display. So I decided to buy one like this:

You’re a Kid with a Kia Soul. Are you ready to roll?

One of my favorite YouTuber’s did a video on how gas stoves are not only bad for you, but for the environment as well:

I’m generous. I’ll give you a star anyway.

This is a good argument, but it’s also the same thing we used against guns, and... well it didn’t work. Granted, guns are a “protected right” so that’s a high hill to climb. Trucks are regulated as it is, so hopefully something will finally come of this.

I bought an Aveo because I was doing delivery work, and having a hatch was essential for me. I never hated it, but it is the worst car I’ve owned from the 2000s (your 2010 wouldn’t count in this article). It was kinda slow, the auto cratered itself and cost half of what I originally paid for it to get it fixed. The
