So, the title seems to imply a problem with this. What’s the problem?

I’m way too scared to go on reddit except for the briefest of dalliances, so a Q to people who do use the site: Is it generally a decent place but with a few infamously awful forums? Similar to the way that Twitter can be good or awful depending on who you follow? Or is it pretty much pure muck?
