Nope, you're absolutely correct and while there are different types of shutters (leaf shutter being the other major alternative), shutter speed has nothing to do with aperture blades.

Right on Gizmodo...Always felt Arrington was an arrogant prick, this is more proof. I'm sure there were lots of happy people when Arrington got screwed out of his own CrunchPad idea.
I generally agree, in fact I haven't owned a car in 5 years. But calling it a luxury implies only the rich should have access to convenience. Don't know if that's the best way to go.
It's mostly a cover to block what they're doing with their free hand, ie reaching in your pocket.
hmm, on all of my accounts, gmail included, if i do a search on my iphone, it says "continue search on server" at the bottom of the list. that always works and i haven't seen an android client do it yet on imap accounts (don't have any relevant exchange accts).
Assuming you've got an Android or iOS smartphone, there's an app for this.
Gypsies in Italy. It's true, they do the swarm attack. Look out for mobs of kids swarming around you and then suddenly some older women will show up holding up cardboard and try to reach in your pocket for your wallet. It's happened to me but I ended up taking their cardboard from them instead.
Also, apropos to Africa, check if any OTC drugs are banned in the country you're visiting. When I went to Zambia, several people on my plane were surprised to find out Benadryl is on Zambia's controlled substance list and were detained upon entry! Not a good way to start a holiday.
This is one of my biggest gripes with Android. Since switching in Feb, I have yet to find an email client that's as good as the default iOS email client. The default Android client should be taken out and shot. It feels like a beta app, Google should be embarrassed.
I think this guy studied at the Jackson Pollock school of mathematical analysis. Throw some numbers here, sprinkle some there and see what sticks.
I've actually switched to feed.ly after using Pulse for a little bit. I like the more magazine like layout and the ReadItLater integration. But I use my RSS feeds more as casual reading for in-between moments rather than having to see every single headline that comes in.
I guess it could've been worse. We could've gone for years just to find out the plane really did crash and they're just in purgatory.
Orrrr... Bin Laden represented a continuing threat, both in terms of having the ability to finance terrorist attacks and the ability to plan and coordinate threats around the world. The cache of intelligence gathered is proof of that.
Just updated on my Nook Color and it doesn't use the Honeycomb enhancements. You do get the dictionary which brings it in line with the default Nook reader but you just see the regular smartphone layout.
Wasn't my favorite either, but Falling Outside the Normal Moral Constraints was a great character.
That's not consumerism. Not everyone has the same tolerance for food going bad. Some people will really get sick from the smallest amounts of bacteria growth or what have you. Others can tolerate much more. It depends a lot on your own intestinal flora.
When I was growing up there was a children's book called Big Dog, Little Dog. I have a feeling there will be a different tale told in about 20 years with the same name.
In otherwords, mandatory.
Flash usually does this all by itself!
The entire series is really good. I got sucked in when io9 first posted about Surface Detail and was reading Banks almost exclusively for a few months!
