Ordinarily we liberals appreciate the tactical value of giving malcontents an outlet to blow off steam, which is what Splinter was, but 2020 is no ordinary election year. Disunity is not a luxury we can afford if we are to defeat Trump.

Systemic change scares a lot of people. I’ve said it before and I will say again, a significant amount of the American people are suffering from a form of Stockholm Syndrome where they sympathize with their capitalist masters against their own interests.
