On pc Vulkan’s main competitor is DirectX and so far DX11 has been faster in benchmarks. Yes Vulkan will improve over time and there are other factors that favor Vulkan (like cross platform support) but comparing its performance to OpenGL is pointless. and somewhat misleading.
