Automatic fail for not including the Ford Panther platform cars.
Well I am looking California and feeling Minnesota.
Well the window stickers also say Jeep, as do their sales reporting. Stellantis wants Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer to be seen as luxury vehicles, hence marketing them as a sub-brand. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/fca-third-quarter-2023-us-sales-down-1-301946204.html
I don’t know if climate change is to blame, but it seems like I’ve seen an increase of weather that creates a super hard icy layer on top of the snow. Even my single stage gas snowblower struggles with that, so I’m sure a shovel wouldn’t be able to handle it. I’d like to upgrade to a two stage, I’ll definitely…
Wagoneer isn’t a true brand, it’s a sub-brand, sort of like Genesis was for Hyundai before it split off. Yes, I think that is silly.
Mine is also a Craftsman. I’ll be honest with you, I changed the oil exactly one time when it was only a year old. I realize this is bad, but the thing is still running fine without any obvious issues. Yes I’m embarrassed by this.
I’ve never seen an electric snow shovel in action, but as someone who lives in Michigan, who I assume has similar weather to you, I feel like it would take forever to clear my driveway/walk with an electric shovel. I can’t imagine it handles deep snow very well either, no?
I get the advantages of corded things, but no thanks. I hate dealing with cords.
One thing I like about electric is that they just seem to have fewer problems. My gas snowblower seems to be on its way out, so I may be looking at a replacement for the upcoming winter. I’ve had a battery weed whacker for a decade and have always been happy with it. I bought an electric chainsaw earlier this year and…
The whole “we need to throw out our gas stuff” is a deliberate red herring and not what anyone is intending.
I don’t disagree with anything you say. I will say though that I go through maybe 3 gallons of gas per year in my push mower. I know its exhaust is a lot dirtier than a car. That said, it’s a drop in the bucket compared to how much fuel we go through in our cars per year, and my household drives significantly fewer…
I would definitely like the quiet of all of those things, but I can’t get myself to replace things that are still working.
I don’t mean to sound like the type who would let the perfect get in the way of the good. I just hate that my power is produced by coal. I’d love to set myself up with solar panels, but we would also like to move in the not-too-distant future, so I don’t think the investment would make sense from a financial…
I don’t mean to sound like a person who is opposed to electric because of how my power is generated, I’m not. It was more an acknowledgement of fact. I’d like to add solar panels to my house, but we’d like to move in the not so distant future, so it probably wouldn’t make financial sense. It certainly won’t payback in…
It sounds like a second battery would be in order for me. That is right on the cusp for how long clearing my snow takes, depending on conditions. It would be a bonus of a mower and snowblower used the same battery system.
I’m of the philosophy that it’s more environmentally friendly to use something until it dies than to buy a newer, more environmentally friendly version of something since building that new item uses significant resources. That’s why I have yet to replace it.
How did you know I live in Michigan? It must either be a past comment or a random state you threw in there. I would definitely always buy a snowblower based on the worst case scenario for where I live. After all, when would you want to have a snowblower the most?
I’ve been planning on replacing my 14 year old lawnmower with a battery version when it dies, but it just doesn’t seem to want to. My electricity comes from a coal-burning plant, so it might be a wash environmentally, but I’d enjoy having something quieter.
The thing is though, what are acceptable risks, and what are not? I don’t microwave plastic, because doing so does not add any sort of enjoyment to my life, and at may increase risks to my health. I do drink beer and eat pizza because while I know those things both have certain health risks, I find them enjoyable.
We went for birch from Maynards which was quite cheap at the time, which was in 2018. It would have been easier to just leave it, but the light color of the unfinished birch isn’t what we were going for in our kitchen. I do sometimes think I would have enjoyed the unfished countertop for the reasons you mention. I do…
